I'm guessing we all have a few of those potential cars we can afford to buy and dream of fixing one day. This is in memory of an 83 RX7 I danced around for a good year and even had the price dropped in half for me... ME !

My friend bought this with an engine and MTX swap in mind, but resources were rare and he moved on. He wanted a fellow enthusiast to take over since he got it running, and with a fuel pressure issue to be resolved he turned my way. I researched myself into wanting it, but Apex seals and the expense of Parts put me in the CV.

My friend sold the car last month to a guy in Pennsylvania who owns a Rotary specific Junk yard..... Sad story.

Anybody else have that one car ?

First year of college - I had a Volvo 142S, buddy had a 142E. We realized one had to become a donor, the other a shared vehicle. Ultimately, the 142E, despite higher mileage, was the choice - better body, fuel injection (no fussy twin carbs). Low point - was an auto instead of the 4 speed on the other car. Later he ran the 142E into a lamp post in a parking lot. Let's learn body work!

Jag XKE, Series 1 coupe, guy wanted $3500 in the late nineties. I have always wanted one, this was the closest I came. I was complete, apart, and, unfortunately the guy or maybe the previous owner had cut out ALL the rust, so, even in my Jaguar lust was stayed by the cold hard reality that I would probably never get it back to straight and true.
